The Most Powerful Protest Art From the Women’s March
A collection of the most engaging, imaginative, and beautiful art from around the country.
More than 2.5 million people in cities from Washington, D.C. to Sydney, Australia marched in the name of equal rights at Women’s Marches across the world on the day after President Trump’s inauguration.
Though the reason people chose to march stretched from reproductive freedom to LGBTQ rights to an opposition of our new president, the protest art used to represent the movements was powerful and often well-designed, with artists and designers like Shepard Fairey and Deva Pardue creating free downloadable posters in advance of the marches. And while professionally-made art decorated the streets and sometimes paid respect to the most noted protest art in history, there was also plenty of homemade work that made just as much of an impact.
We’ve gathered some of our favorites from the marches here and we’ll be adding new photographs as we get them over the next few days.
